Bowood Park Golf Club (Cornwall)
Bowood Park Golf Club, set in the heart of North Cornwall in 230 acres of rolling countryside, is considered one of the South West's premier parkland courses. The golf course opened in 1992, and has gained many plaudits during it's short life, including the coveted Golf Monthly Gold Award. Bowood Park Golf Club really does offer something to every golfer, beginners and scratch players alike.
Running to 6,672 yards (par 72) off the white tees, Bowood Park Golf Course really is a tale of two nines. The front nine are cleverly designed to allow the odd erractic shot. The par 5 seventh, at 600 yards off the championship tees, is the longest hole in Cornwall and should prove a challenge.
The back nine starts with three holes that would grace any championship course in the UK. The 10th is a stunning dog-leg par 5, sweeping round and down into the valley. The 12th is recognised by many to be the signature hole at Bowood Park. It's a beautiful tree-lined par 4, partially framed by the winding River Allen.
The Golf Club at Bowood Park is also home to a luxury, 31-room, three star hotel & award-winning restaurant. The restaurant serves a wide range of cuisine and has earned an RAC Dining Award. The lounge bar is spacious and comfortably furnished - the ideal place to relax and take stock after your efforts on the golf course.
